Club Rep Duties

Chair the tournament when it is played at your club. You are in charge of securing the golf course for the tournament and you are in charge of the day(s) of the event(s).  The officers will assist you where needed and a Western officer will be assigned to assist you.  The specific instructions for hosting an event are listed on the WGAWNY website. Please use the  Tournament Hosting Guide for Reps page for your planning.

¨ Contact your pro prior to the Spring meeting to obtain the names of any new members who have joined your club with low handicaps (below 19.4). Inform them that they are eligible to join and answer any questions they may have. The specific instructions for hosting an event are listed on the WGAWNY website.

¨ Attend the Spring Meeting (usually the last Saturday in April or the first Saturday in May). If you cannot attend, send a club representative.

¨ Distribute any information received at the Spring Meeting to WGAWNY members at your club.

¨ Remind fellow WGAWNY members of up-coming events and tournament entry deadlines.

¨ If any of your members need a partner for an event, encourage them to contact the tournament chair for placement.

¨ Attend the Annual Fall Meeting. If you cannot attend, send a club representative.

¨ Submit the year-end sheet for prospective members. Ask any club member whose index is below 19.4 (or 21.4 if your club has less than 5 members) if they are interested in joining.  For all qualified club members who are interested in joining, submit the Proposed New Member form by the form submission deadline.  The Proposed New Member form will be made available to you via email and on the website along with instructions on where to send it.   Be sure to submit full contact information for the proposed members.

¨ Update Member Information.  Always be sure to advise the Executive Committee of any changes in your existing or proposed member’s name, contact information, or any member with a medical situation (granted one year leave of absence).

¨ Proposed members should be submitted with full contact information, based on the index rules for membership.
