Dress Code
Golf skirts, skorts and shorts, all not more than 4 inches above the knee, slacks, capris, shirts with sleeves and/or sleeveless shirts with collars ARE acceptable.
Short shorts, tank tops, tennis-length shorts and jeans are NOT acceptable at any WGAWNY event.
Players who do not comply will be given the opportunity to change, wear rain pants or buy appropriate attire from the host pro shop.
Failure to honor this policy will result in disqualification from the event.
All WGAWNY members dining inside the host clubhouse following play must remove all visors, caps and hats. |

USGA rules govern all play. Local rules will be established before play by the individual golf course.
A USGA handicap index of 16.4 at year end must be maintained for a member’s first two years. Thereafter, a member’s index shall not exceed 19.4. Members must have posted a minimum of ten (10), 18-hole round scores by the close of each WGAWNY golfing season, to be eligible to renew their membership. (New 2011)
The maximum number of members from each district is 100.
Dues of $40 per year must be received by the due date on the dues notice in order to maintain membership.
In the case of a medical problem or accident, a one-year grace period will be allowed to re-establish a handicap within WGAWNY’s limits. This applies to non-probationary members only. Payment of dues must continue through the grace period.
The maximum number of handicap strokes allowed in any tournament is 18.
A two-stroke penalty will be imposed for being late to the tee and for delay of play.
Prize certificates will not be honored after October 31, 2011. Prize certificates for each tournament must be redeemed at
Candidates for admission must be golfing members of a WGAWNY club. The following order is used for membership admission:
~ Handicap index of 9.4 or below is automatically admitted ~ Lowest handicap ~ Member of a new club in WGAWNY ~ Clubs with fewer than three members ~ Longest time on the waiting list
It is the responsibility of each club’s Representative to attend the spring and fall meetings. |

The WGAWNY Representative from the host club is the chairman of the event, with the other members of WGAWNY working as her committee.
Contestants are responsible for mailing entry forms, with a check for the total fee that includes cart and lunch.
NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED MORE THAN FOUR WEEKS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THE EVENT.
Pairings, tee times, and a map shall be posted at www.wgawny.com approximately one week before an event, and. Cart and lunch fees are non-refundable once the closing date has passed.
Pairings, as published, are the responsibility of the tournament chair and her committee. Any changes may be made by the committee only. Players who change their pairings without permission shall be disqualified.
If the tournament field must be limited for any reason, entries will be accepted in the order they are received.
It is the responsibility of each WGAWNY member to put her current handicap index on each application form. Any member found to be giving incorrect indexes will be immediately suspended from the membership.
